GET TO KNOW ME MEME: [3/10] shows | community"You are all better than you think you are. You are just designed not to believe it when you hear it from yourself."
i’m going back to the start: [3/∞] pilot episodes ★ new girl
↳ “So, you know in horror movies when the girl’s like, ‘Oh, my God, there’s something in the basement! Let me just run down there in my underwear and see what’s going on, in the dark!’ And you’re like, ‘What is your problem?! Call the police!’ And she’s like, ‘Okay!’ but it’s too late, because she’s already getting murdered? Well, uh… my story’s kind of like that.”
"There are things that come along with getting older. You get really good at not taking things personally. When you see people acting or behaving a certain way, you don’t do what you did in your 20s, which is assume it’s because of something you did or there’s something wrong with you. You just watch it the way you would watch a child having a tantrum." x x
Anonymous said: Your post about Olicity fans about the whole KC thing is a tiring generalization I'm getting sick of in all honesty. Sadly with such a huge fandom similar to Captain Swan you can't control everyone. There will always be little troll fans who just get nasty on BOTH SIDES. So addressing the #Olicity tag like it's some universal Oliciter problem is just aggravating. And this is someone who ships Olicity hardcore and didn't have a word to say about the poster aside from looks really photoshopped.
Oh, I understand that you can’t control everyone. And in all honesty, I’m not saying that ALL Olicity shippers are that way (if you read my post, I note that the few vocal ones are shining a negative light on the vast majority of those who are - in my personal experience - pleasant individuals).
I addressed the #Olicity tag because I wish someone had addressed the Jeff/Annie ship in this way before “Bobrowgate,” as we’ve named it, had to happen and ruin fandom (and that ship) for a LOT of people. (Trust me, there was so much unnecessary drama both in and out of the confines of fandom that could have been prevented).
And honestly, the hate that I see has been generated IN that tag — I’ve been avoiding it for a few days because every time I peruse it, I see someone bashing Laurel or the poster or SOMETHING. The fact that Stephen Amell had to address it on his OWN FACEBOOK PAGE is pretty unsettling because it means people (and by people, I mean people who are unhappy with Laurel’s placement on the poster, more than likely) are being vocal to him about it.
I’m not generalizing — generalizing would be saying ALL Olicity shippers are negative and most of them hate Laurel but… that tag and ship ARE where I see problems arising that are eerily similar to the ones I experienced in the toher fandom. I’m giving them - you all - the kind of advice I wish someone had given to the really vocal J/A shippers. If someone had, we could have prevented the blow-up from happening and ruining a relationship between the shippers and the head writer of our show. I don’t want to see Olicity become something sour to the writers and I certainly don’t want them believing ALL Olicity shippers to feel negatively.
That’s all I’m saying, tbh. Hopefully you understand that.
